Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Yes, it sounds like you need a window regulator; you can get a used one from a junk yard as long as they show you it works or they give you warranty.

When windows goes up or down very slow sometimes can be the dry rubber seals which you can fix with some spray silicon.

More often its the regulator/motor then it is dried seals keeping it from moving. Tho I have had a dry seal do that to me, so it does happen.

yeh my passenger side window sticks from dry seals, but thats not gonna cause the window not to move completely i dont think....other than that see if it works from the paasenger side switch, if not then its a problem inside the door panel, prolly a bad window motor.....just check the switch first before u condemn the window motor

In the meantime if you can grab the top of the window, pull up on it while you are pressing the "up window" button and it may move upwards. Once it's up a little you can press up against it on the inside to help it up.

I just replaced my driver's side regulator last weekend. Mine did exactly the same thing, except sometimes the motor would click. Toward the end it wouldn't make any noise at all. Be careful to get the glass back in the tracks when you are putting it back in. I had to take mine apart twice more because of the stupid tracks! There is a 10mm bolt at the bottom of both sides to hold the tracks in place. You can take them loose and then put the window back in. Much easier than fighting with that piece of glass inside that panel.

but i guess the last laugh is mine, cause my new coupe that i'm picking up doesn't have power windows.......yes i'm free...lol

I have the same problem. Mine is the rubber seals. They are so dry and sticky they will stop the window dead in its tracks. This eventually will cause the window regulator/motor to go.

Please try this before replacing your window regulator. Simply adjust the glass in the window. There are about five 10mm bolts that adjust the angle of the glass in the door and if the angle is too steep, the window will bind toward the top of the door and the motor will click because it cannot move the glass.

I had fits with my window jumping out of the track and even paid the dealer to replace the regulator but not until I got in the door and started messing with it did I discover it was never adjusted properly. I paid a lot of money to fix it but in the end I was the one who fixed it.
