Air Intake H22A

im look for the best cold air intake that would fit the cb7 body without relocating the battery and is compatible to the Jdm h22a and will pass emissions . and perferable good name brands plz and where would i be able to order them or purchase them , can someone plz respond asap i will really appreciate it thanks again

if you want something legal your going to have to go either with AEM or Injen as they both are carb legal. Get the 92-96 prelude cold air intake, as it's a 3'' pipe instead of the 2.5'' accord one.

Do you know that the cb7 chas and the bb4 chas are all most alike and you still can use accord intake......

AEM is probably the best. The standard AEM CAI will fit, though you probably won't be able to use the little vibration mount they give you (if you don't use it, the warranty is void... but it's a freakin pipe!)

CARB legal parts are necessary in CA... however, a JDM H22A usually isn't legal without some major stuff... I'm guessing that you're running an engine that is technically illegal?

i took the emissions test but only failed on the intake? are u tellin me if i install an AEM one ill still fail i currently have a cheap one that i purchased couple years ago that workd perfectly wit my old f22a but it didnt agree wit my h22a what should i do i really dont wanna keep my car in the garage wit a new engine for ever

How exactly did the intake fail, im assuming it was a visual inspection of the intake that failed it. Get the aem its carb legal, visual ispection is a major part of a smog test.

A JDM H22 is every bit as smoggable and legal is the USDM one is. No difference except you might fail the visiual if you have the JDM P13 under your carpet and the REF takes a look. But none of that matters now since the BAR program is closed due to budget cuts.

timmy0tool just recently smogged his JDM H22 with JDM P13 at a regular test only smog center. All he had to do to pass was clean the EGR system and adjust timming. It would be the same with a USDM H22.

I have the 92-96 Prelude AEM cold air intake on my H22A1. You CAN use the vibration mount, but you have to drill a hole near the opening to mount it. My car is in the shop right now (to have my new tranny installed) or I would post a pic of what I did to install it. And since you're already cutting where the pipe goes through, drilling a hole should be no problem. I did have to cut the battery tray to make it fit, but the battery is still in the stock location.

Thank god we dont have any of that emissions stuff in my area. Theres straight pipes everywhere around here hahaha

Same here i dont have to do any of that stuff either, here in Ks and its GREEEEAT...... But go with a AEM intake prelude like thay are saying but relocate the battery in the trunk, that way you dont have to do much mods to the battery tray....

i passed the visual . he was inpressed with the time timming cuz it was " dead on" and he said that the reason i failed was because the oil breather on the left top cornor facin the intake needs to be replaced wit a tube the runs to the intake ram but its a cheap intake anyways so i just wanna get a good intake that i can actually know that ima pass without any worries on my mind. and whats a good site that i can get an official no knock off Aem 92-96 intake carb legal ? does ebay do it for u guys?

cool thanks man but are u sure when i install the 92-96 prelude cold air intake i wont have to relocate the battery or do some type of mod

When I did mine, I had to cut the battery tray. But I was able to keep the battery under the hood.

Dude that happened to me too pissed me off why couldnt the just just tell me to fix it befor they did the test! cause their money hungry.
I bought a no name CARB legal intake off ebay but i only use it when i go to smog cause its 2.5".
