I have oil on all four sparkplugs. The threads of the sparkplugs are all dripping wet with oil. The bottom of the spark plug boots are wet with oil. Are the sparkplug tube seals worn out or is it another big problem?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

since it's very common for the tube seals to leak, i'd say yes, that's probably what it is.
here's the diy for it:

1. Which bolt on the distributor do you have to remove? Is it a bolt on the distributor or the distributor cap?
2. I don't want to remove the timing belt. Will there be lift on the end facing the distributor cap? Is it best to have it NOT on TDC. Then set it at TDC when adjusting valves.
3. When removing the rocker arm assembly why does the bolts have to be partially unscrewed? Why not just take the screws strait out?

Do you need to set it to TDC?
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...ght=tube+seals
Step 2: Position number one piston at Top Dead Center (TDC)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you need an assistant to hold down the transaxle end of the camshaft?
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...ght=tube+seals
Step 3: Rocker arm removal and seal replacement
1- Have an assistant hold down the transaxle end of the camshaft, then loosen the camshaft bearing cap bolts 1/4 turn at at a time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can someone identify the top screw from the distributor housing that has to be removed?
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...e+seals&page=2
Step # 4
Be sure to label the distributor cap terminals as well, in reference to the wires. Remove only the top screw from the distributor housing so you can remove the rocker arm assembly later.

make sure when you do change the valve cover gasket and the plug seals, you replaces the plug wires. oil is very corrosive to rubber, and if your plug wires get oil on them.. well your asking for trouble later on. .. Its a pain if you have nice plug wires, but worth it
and check your cap and rotor assembly while your at it

2. The dizzy will not come off in this procedure so timing belt tension isnt an issue. You cant lash the valves with the belt tdc. You can only lash the valves when the rocker is sitting on the lowest lobe of the cam, you have to rotate it for each cylinder. If your not familar with this procedure you can easily do some serous head damage!
3. I dont know about leaving them in a thread but i always try to leave the bolts in the rocker ass so theres no confusion about what bolt goes whereLast edited by 904drACCORDMANG; 07-19-2010, 12:27 AM.
