Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    white exhaust smoke after spark plug install

    is this normal? my first time changing plugs, installed NGK V-Power's, gapped them, only tightened them to snug, etc. but get smoke when started and when i rev the engine. help please!

    If the old spark plugs had oil on them it probably dripped down into the cylinders... If thats the case, your spark plug tube seals are leaking. They come in the valve cover gasket kit.

      yup prolly not too big of a deal...i would drive it for a day or two, and see if it clears up, which it prolly should..also check ur plug wires to make sure there is no oil getting in there from the tube seals like 406 said..

        awesome thanks guys. just didn't want to do anything harmful to my engine, obviously I don't know much haha. I had figured I got oil somewhere since the old plugs were drenched.

          Yep tube seals are goners the time the plugs were out oil was draining down on top of your pistons till the tubes were empty so then when you fired it up all that oil is burnt and hence a cloud of white smoke no harm in the cloud but you better replace the tube seals soon, it wont get any better.

            The last time I checked, oil smoke was blue, white means water in the combustion process somehow. If this doesn't clear up within ten minutes (it shouldn't take long to burn off any oil that leaked into the cylinders), and it is white smoke, I'd get it to someone who knows cars and have it looked at.

              If it's just a small amount of smoke, it may look white regardless... Oil on the plugs means leaking tube seals for sure, so fix that. $40 for a valve cover gasket set isn't much.

              If you're really blowing white, then it's likely that you're burning coolant. The head gasket is the most common thing in that case... that's not fun.

                yeah deever is right, i had teh same thing happen replaced teh valve cover and spark plug gaskets and p roblem went away.
