ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Ok, so my sister has a 98 EX Accord. 4 cyl.
Both motor mounts were bad, and it shook like an old diesel when at idle.
Both motor mounts replaced, and now its worse....any ideas?

ok so you found 2 broken mounts and replaced them? How long was it in that condition?

so I'm thinking because it was shaking so much the other 2 mounts are not broken but were you insert the bolts it might be worn out!

Start your car......pop the hood.....let it reach normal Temp........have someone go at the car.....engage the e-brake pop it in first gear and give it slight gas enough to make the rpm jump and see what the engine does.

If its shifting back and forth try and take a look at how the mounts act....good mounts dont move from there place.....worn mounts will have play and will shift with the engine.

I think if the mounts shift you can add a washer to help with the play!!

Front and back, or left and right?
Are you sure the engine is running right (not misfiring) and that the engine mounts are the cause of the problem?

is it auto? if it is then just alternate going to reverse then drive. if it shakes real bad then it might be the front mount.

also if the motor has been on bad mounts for a while and u just replace the side mounts then u might also look into replacine the front and rear.

but of course it could also be that the mounts arent torqued to the proper specs.

the options are endless in my opinion

Front and rear mounts were replaced.
It wasn't that. Something is hitting under the hood. Need to get it on a lift and give it a closer look.
