ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

You would have to pull the tranny and open the case. The syncros ride on the main shaft between each gear set. Its what engages the gears when you shift. The shift forks sit in a slot in the middle of each syncro and when you shift gears it either pushes a syncro forward or back depending on what gear you are going into. I havent had a Honda tranny apart but have worked on many diesel tranny's, theyre huge but the operation in basically the same. Im thinking the honda tranny probably has three syncros and if third gear is grinding then its probably the middle one, you also need to inspect that gear to make sure its engagement teeth are also not worn.

prolly lookin at about 1000 for a rebuild i would say...very expensive..unless u plan on keeping the car forever, its prolly not worth it..i would try to find a good used trans and do it that way....when u replace synchros u need to replace all bearings, seals, and anything else that is worn in the trans when it is dissasembled....as far as price for the clutch i do em for 260..so 390 is a little high...the labor rate must be higher....just to give u an idea..

holy shnikeis batman that a sh*t-ton of money, i love this car though...even though im broke,im not letting my cb7 go i find away...the a6 conversion is gonna have to wait then... so ok how bout a swap, if i buy the trani myself and have someone put it in would it be cheaper than bring it to them and charging me for the new trani? what about an h23, or f22b, is it a direct swap?(just the trani not full swap)

yeh more than likely way cheaper if u get it....u already have a clutch, i would do a rear main seal, and new flywheel or resurface the old one...proly lookin at 3 to 500 buck depending on where u go

could try some of that new manual tranny fluid...I hear it helps a lot with this issue. Won't fix it or solve it...but can reduce the crunch until you can fix it.
