ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Stupid muffler shops......

ok I went to some muffler shops and they were all about tell me that a 2.25" is too big for the car and running it over the rear tire area is going to be a pain at that size and what not.....
So what gives when you can go and buy a CAT BACK for $273.95 for a flowmaster 60 series and bolt it right up.
Reason is I have a Borla Universal and was wanting to put that on in place of doing a catback. I am I just not seeing something here or are the setups you guys running not the right size, like a 1-7/8" is the right size according to them...
    Any help is a pleasure!!!!!

Mine's 2 1/2" from the headers on back, those guys are trippin brother! I have 4-2-1 headers, a high-flow cat and a catback with a 4 1/2" outlet, everything was direct bolt-on. I say go somewhere else where the people know what they're talkin about and get done proper. Later.

X2^ I can drop the entire exhaust from the DP back out from under the car in one piece. I'm running 60 mm (2 3/8") with no problem. I'd go back to the shop and talk to whoever is above whoever you talked to. Tell them you don't appreciate being treated as if you were stupid. Point out that the exhaust doesn't go over anything under the car. explain that you're looking to spend some money, but you'll go to another shop that knows what they're talking about and spend money there instead. Tell them you'll be sure to recommend NOT going to them to all your friends. Raise some hell about it, maybe you'll get them to give you a deal.

That's some funny shit dude! If you have a way to lift your ride up and the proper tools you could actually do the exhaust upgrade yourself, screw them other guys! Save the $ and buy some more pieces to put on your car.

I have 2.5" myself. Took the shop 30 minutes to do it, no questions asked.

If they say it'll be too hard to do, DON'T GO THERE! If they don't think they can do it, they're likely to screw something up. I don't know what... but don't risk it. Muffler shops are a dime a dozen, and as long as you're getting cheap crush-bent muffler shop stuff, it doesn't really matter WHO does it.
