ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

That belt looks scary. I dont think I would trust my engine with that. It looks like a crappy fan belt. How much lighter is it, a couple grams? Not flaming, just havent seen that before.

It's not a new belt.....looks like his t-belt shredded and he caught it just in time. I stick with OEM on T-belts!

Just in time???? Its WELL past its time, If you let a belt get that bad, what does it say about your engine or car for that matter. . .

its got about 1200 miles on it... as you can see the last picture is what it looked like when it was new..... I take care of my car or try to anyways...dont think you should have to take a valve cover off every 1200 miles and check it...not like i let it get that bad... as for whats it have to say about my car for that matter? i think my car is damn nice... take a look at my members ride thread... see it from the day i got it and what it turned out to look like within 3 months time.... not bad for a full restore so please dont try and diss on my car or my work.. this was an unexpected complication and will be took care of.. i just figured i would show you guys some pictures.

i dont know... i did the h23 tensioner swap... i believe the belt was walking off the cam gears and possibly was getting shredded between the tensioner and the balnce shaft belt tensioner.. i am not sure though... will be tearing down and replacing belt next monday. i will have more pictures with updates.

car cut off while driving... was POURING rain i got out check all plug tried to start. well it sounded like it about fired back up twice. anyways 45 mins later its still pouring outside its 2:30 am i call a roll back... he comes and gets it and rips my front bumper off while unloadding.... iceing on the cake i suppose. when i took my valve cover off i noticed the intake cam and exsaust cam are about 4 to 5 teeth off from each other... i am hoping i can throw a belt on it and put it back in time and be ok... if not.. i have an extra h22 head to grab some valves out of got to figure out what caused this though... dont want it to happen again in another 1200 miles......

i dunno... theres alot of people who run the tensioner swap and havnt ever heard of this happing... and if you have done the swap you know that with the tensioner all the way in the loose position the belt is still extremely tight and hard to get on the cam gears... but i dont think thats it.. like i said i will be tearing it down monday mourning after i get off work of the weekend.

I diddn't relaise the last picture was of the original belt, and only after 1200 miles. I just figured it was the OEM belt due to lack of maintenance . . . Typical sterotyping
                            Sorry mate
Hmmm if this is only 1200 miles, take the belt straight back to the company (As is) you brought if from and tell them you want a replacement with an OEM belt.

kinda hard to do that considering i bought it off ebay and dont have the transaction ID anymore... i will be buying an OEM belt to replace it with though

and i dont think its the belts fault... i think its something else i havnt tore it down enough to figure it out yet though... figured a greddy belt was good also.... Keele hasnt had any problems from his and he runs one i know...
