ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I had a kid said his car's so fast, blah blah....and I pretty much told him he'd have a very hurt ass, when an Auto 4 door accord pulls on him, and he said.."yea right, I can flash my Ecu....go from 180hp to 350...easy", Funniest thing I've heard yet to date. Fun times.

As for the ecu chip, don't do it. I'll admit, those Ebay people can really sound like it's worth it, and really works. haha, assholes.

                TUNED chipped ECU.

Too many people think they can just grab a chipped ECU and slap it in the car... each modified ECU has to be tuned for the specific engine it's running, or it won't be right. It may not always do damage, but it won't be of any benefit (especially on stock or mildly modified engines).

Running a CB7 on a stock Civic ECU is a bad idea. DO NOT EVER USE A STOCK CIVIC/INTEGRA ECU IN YOUR CB7! Yes, it may not kill it to idle... but drive it like that, and you're likely to see some damage. If you've tried it, and haven't done any damage... you're lucky. You're not proving me wrong.

Additionally, the F22B1 is a garbage motor. It's a downgrade from the F22A.

As for pgmfi.org... the forums are still working fine. http://forum.pgmfi.org/

The owner had some legal issues with Hondata, and it caused some MAJOR problems for the site.
Give me some dyno money and I'll prove you otherwise. I'll dyno any engine you want with i/h/e. First I'll dyno with a stock ecu, then I'll dyno it tuned. An H22 would have the biggest hp change.

I'm not saying there are NO gains... but honestly... not much. Not worth the cost to a near-stock engine. Dyno an H22 with I/H/E (normal production stuff... Bisimoto excluded) and tune it... and you MIGHT gain 10hp. Worth it? Not really... not if your mods cost $1000 combined, as a dyno tune session would cost more than it's worth.

Add cams and a Bisimoto or SMSP header, ok... then I'll say it's worth the money.

Eh..kinda true. That depends on where you do your shopping.

Most people would just buy offline where they found it first. Which usually ends up being top dollar.

Dyno runs really aren't that expensive anymore. $75 for an hour, or 50 for 3 pulls.

The ECU and tuning does get expensive tho.

Yeah, either you're paying someone who knows what they're doing a ton of money to do it for you (if it's not the dyno operator, then it's on top of the dyno time), or you're wasting your time on the dyno trying to figure things out. Even a somewhat experienced street tuner will need some time to get accustomed to a dyno. Street tuning isn't done for maximum power, since you don't know what you're making. You can only even out the fuel curve (which usually makes power if the engine is running rich anyway). You can do stuff on the dyno that you can't really do effectively on the street.

If you don't have mods significant enough to make a decent amount of power, there's NO point in dyno tuning. If you unearth 10hp from a dyno tune... for $500+... no thanks. Yes, I know exhausts and headers sell for more than that and make around the same power... but they're static parts (where MORE power can be pulled by tuning). If you add one part to a tuned engine, you've then altered what the tune is for, and you should retune.

I need a garage... and a lift... and a dyno... Someday!
