ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    ebay brake rotors?

My front brake rotors are wasted, warped and shakes. Im going to change the rotors and pads. I was looking on ebay and saw some really good prices on sets of 4 slotted and drilled rotors. Anybody ever use these? Are they safe, or junk?

From what i have been told, steer clear of those. Hawk HPS pads with a brembo slotted is what most members upgrade to, or even the machined brembo flat face. I have some knockoff Inroble Rotor brake rotors in front with some PBR Racing semi metallic pads. Rotors costed me 140 bucks, pads were around 52ish. You can always stick with stock... its not like its bad or anything.. .:P

Brembo Blanks and Hawk semi-metalic brake pads. Drilled and slotted rotors can crack.

Brembos would be nice but right now id rather spend that kind a cash on other upgrades. Ill just cruise over to autozone and pick up some stock pads and rotors.

Nothing beats Brembo blanks mated with a good set of pads.

I got mine for $70 shipped which was very reasonable.

tire rack sells them for $38 each so $76 for a front pair + shipping.

I've never seen ebay brand rotors before. When did Ebay start making parts?

I got my slotted and drilled Brembos on ebay. I'm pretty sure ebay didn't make or modify them, though.

                        Response:

                        Wow...

$150 shipped for all 4 discs, crossed drilled.

                        compared to:

$220 shipped for all 4 discs from Tire Rack, Brembo blanks.

...and yes... I've read all the articles about blanks being the best but these just look nicer and its not a bad trade off for better appearance.

Also, getting the calipers powder coated helps alot too.

I'm definately doing the conversion of H.O.R. to R.O.H....all thats needed pretty much are what...98-99 Acura CL hubs from the dealer or after market and calipers.

I mean.. the hubs pretty much off ANYWAY when you do a brake job...lol

A really good thread on drilled/slotted rotors. Guys in posts 5 & 7 give a good run down on the ups and downs on them.
