ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Ive been considering a trans swap also and have been also been debating on which trans to use.
I've wondered the same thing about the F 5th gear. I've asked before, and people have told me that it wouldn't work, but I don't know for sure how accurate that information was.

Personally, I'd rather have someone make a 6 speed for the H! Normal H22 1st-5th with the Accord 5th gear as a 6th. I would SOOOOOO buy that! I think it would be too much of an RPM drop with the Accord 5th in a Prelude trans... I was just looking at the charts and it might not be too bad. Some should try it and get back to us all!

well someone (quaife) does make a 6-speed...and it's ubber expensive...like almost 10 grand according to their site...course I coulda sworn there was a price listed here for like 5g's but it was just redone gears using the OEM case... EITHER way not for a DD/occasional fun car really.

As to altering that one gear...it is possible...but the machine work and measurements would have to be figured...has to still fit in the same space as the stock gear...then you need the syncro for it...imo it would prolly cost too much to do one gear (unless you are a machinist). Be too much of a hassle.

now if you did all the gears it would prolly be worth it...but still, only if you were a machinist or someone gave you the hookup...course I'd like a stronger case too.

Now if it was for a track car...then you could pony up the cash

I wish I had both those trannys to open up and compare. If the main shaft, counter shaft, and syncros were the same then they would probably drop right in as long as they fit in the case.

Fitment in the case was the reason I was given previously for it to not work.

Someone will try it someday... A lot of people want to do it!

Found out today that the Prelude final drive WILL fit in the Accord tranny. I just ordered one from Gearspeed. H2U5 with Prelude final drive (4.266), carbon coated synchros and my LSD installed (my mechanic already has the LSD out of the current tranny and ready to ship to Gearspeed for installation into my NEW tranny)! It was pretty expensive, but it's something I'll never have to worry about again. :sigh:
