Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Which is better depends entirely on what you want out of your car. I had the H tranny in my car for about 2 years after the swap, then I decided that I wanted to get better highway gas mileage so I swapped in a 90 Accord EX tranny. I also dropped in a Quaife ATB diff (LSD) to get better launches and try to make up for a little bit of the gearing difference. You will lose some accelleration with the Accord tranny over the Prelude tranny.
With the H tranny, I was getting about 24 MPG (average per tank) and I ran a 15.2 in the 1/4 (with lots of bad parts that f'd up my launch) and I was revving at about 4k at 75MPH (0.870 5th with a 4.266 final drive)
With the F tranny, I'm getting about 26 MPG (average per tank) and I ran a 15.7 in the 1/4, but the trans didn't want to shift into 2nd. I found out later that the design of the 90-91 EX trans was weak and that the issue was resolved with the redesign for 92. So if you do decide to get an Accord tranny, go with the 92-up. With this trans, I rev at about 3k at 80MPH, which is what gives it the better fuel economy on the highway. 4GAccordH22, I hadn't heard that the older transmissions had a weak point. Do you have any more information on that? I'd like to know more!

I have a 91 and i am unsure as to whether the tranny is original or not but i would like to replace it if this is true.

In the 92 up H2U5 they used a larger mainshaft and a 3 pc 2nd gear synchro. I found this out after I installed the LSD and put the tranny in the car. I called Gearspeed to see about getting their carbon-coated synchros. I ended up talking to one of the techs who told me all of this. He said that they don't even rebuild the 90-91 H2U5, they just trash them if they get them as a core. The easiest way to tell if it is a 90-91 tranny or a 92-up is to look for the mounting hole for the CD/Prelude chassis on the backside of the case, the 90-91's do not have the hole to drill and tap for a Prelude/CD. So now my tranny is getting worse and I can't find one at pick n pull locally, so I may have to get a gearspeed $1400 tranny (with MY LSD installed)...Originally posted by Junior SmurffNevermind guys, google search works wonders!

I'd definitely trust the word of GearSpeed.

Would it be possible to get custom gears for the h series? If so maybe a taller 5th gear for cruising and the rest oem for performance. Or would the f series fifth gear set fit in the h series trans? Whats the price differance between the two? Ive been considering a trans swap also and have been also been debating on which trans to use."Brought to you by Carls Jr."

I'm considering getting a trans (H2U5) from Gearspeed with their carbon coated synchros, but I wanted to ask them if the Prelude final drive (4.266) would fit in the Accord tranny. I know for a fact that the Quaife differential is the same for both trannys...Originally posted by Junior SmurffNevermind guys, google search works wonders!
