ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Regrind and nstalling a camshaft

I am thinking about getting a regrind done in my f22a4. What kind of regrind would be the best for my car as a daily driver right now? Bisimoto? Delta? Also would there be any benefit to getting a a6 camshaft and then getting that regrinded or should I just regrind the a4 camshaft or will the a6 just be better to put in without a regrind? My last question is, is there a place I can find a guide to install it? I have all the tools I would ever need and I do have chilton and mitchell shop books but I have not checked them out yet because they are not at my house.

This is what I have done to my car for reference:
    Magnaflow cat
    wrapped Ebay header
    single tip Pacesetter exhaust
    cai
    p12 ecu

Well, they recommend (for delta), to get a 260 regrind if you're an Automatic, and a 272 regrind if you're a Manual. I'm pretty sure a regrind's a regrind. Doesn't matter which camshaft you use. (I'm pretty sure, not 100% positive). The f22a6 cam itself is just a tad bit more aggressive, but I'm pretty sure the a1/a4 and the a6 cam would come out the same after the regrind. To get the full power and feel of the regrind, it's also recommended to get your ecu tuned. Some don't get it tuned, and some do. I haven't done this, so I can't tell you everything. Just my .02 cents of what I've already read up on. Hope it helps a little. I know there's others that can help you out with whatever I left out.

Thanks a lot for your info. This helped me. I think I might go with the delta regrind as it is probably cheaper then the bisimoto. I just got my p12 today and installed it and let it idle for about 15 mins then took it for a spin and I was very impressed. It was raining out and I could not even push the pedal down halfway with out the wheels breaking loose. It used to only spin in the rain when i pretty much floored the pedal.

Yea, same here man. I actually downgraded from the pt6 to the p12 about 3 weeks ago, and closed off my IAB system, to where it's just like a a1/a4 intake manifold now, and I feel a lot more in the bottom end. But when I open all 8 ports of the a6 intake manifold, my top end is...wow Better gas mileage also. The delta regrind is.....100 bucks? Here's the site if you want their number so you could call 'em up.

shell out the money for a bisimoto cam and youll be much happier having a cam that is actually designed for the f22 rather than a cam that has a generic grind!

if u do it get a cam gear. i had a delta 272 and the gear helps bring the power back down low. tune would prbably help, mine wasnt i just used the pt6. as far as dificulty if u think u can do a timing belt u can probably do this. just make sure u have or buy a torque wrench and follow the manuel. also remember to set the valve lash correctly.

I would save up for the bisimoto cam but I think I might go with the delta regrind for now just because I am starting to get into the process of building a f20b and I just want a cheaper cam right now for the f22a4. Thanks for the input though.

I have every tool I would ever need for anything to do with a car but I just wanted to know about the install. I tried to search for a diy thread on here for installing a cam but came up with nothing. Anyone else know of a place with a diy for a camshaft?
