ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    96 accord

i found a 96 accord ex with a shot transmission in it for 500. i bought it because i'm planning on doing the f22b1 head swap into my 91 lx. my question is what all parts are interchangeable and worth keeping for my car and what should i part out and sell?

idk man.. it'd probably be a pita swapping that head onto your car just for fuel economic vtec.

if anything, grab the rims if they are alloy and the side skirts.

Why do you want to swap on that head? It's not an upgrade at all. In fact, it's inferior to the F22A head in terms of flow.

You might be able to take the rear disc brakes. The alloys will fit.

is there anything else wrong with it, other than it's flow?

btw, the head is not going to be on there long term, i've got another block and i'm going to rebuild my a1 head i have on now. i'm just a little short on cash right now so it might take me a while to get it done and i need a working engine until then.

Ok, if it's just a temporary "upgrade" then I suppose it's good experience...

There's nothing wrong with the build quality. However, it's severely lacking in terms of performance due to valve angle and port design. Flow is ALL a head is good for when it comes to performance. That's like saying "is there anything wrong with this dog, aside from the fact it doesn't have a pulse?"

Honestly, if the F22B1 is in good shape, don't do a headswap. Just swap in the entire motor. The headswap isn't a simple "slap it on" deal, and you're increasing the chance of problems by doing it. Just drop in the full F22B1, and then build your F22A on the side.

if you are doing the labor yourself i say swap out the whole engine and if possible keep the donor accord, hey its an ex, you can get a chep 5 speed transmission and convert it to manual, return the motor when you are done with it, and either sell it and make a good chunk of change or keep it as a dd until you completly finish your cb, thats if you are doing the labor yourself

That's true. An EX will get a decent amount, if it's not in terrible shape. The guys on CD5tuner.com would appreciate it.

Well, the reason I don't really do much to my engine, is because it's my daily driver. I'd fix the tranny in the 96' and use both cars, honestly. Pull the block off the 91...do whatever you gotta do, and use the 96' as a daily driver. Then, switch and so on. I've had my eye on a 92' integra. 1600 bucks. Has an R-title, but it's fixed. Might possibly get ahold of it, so I could tear down the front end of the Cb. Junkyards around here have Auto/Manual tranny's for 150-200 bucks.
