ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    What could this be? Help!

I have the same problem again!!!!! Please help. Ok this is what's wrong. I'm driving down the road and all of a sudden my car is driving normally and then my car seems like it shifts down to 2nd gear. My RPM's are very high but if I ever get on the high way I can't go past 60 because I don't want to over rev my engine. So anyways I posted this before so I was told it could be my main relay. So I took it out, resoldered it and it work for a good amount of time but now it's doing it again. I'm not sure if this is the same problem or is it something else that could be making it do that? It seems that everytime I disconnect my battery, it goes back to normal but then after a few mins to a few days it goes back to normal. ANYONE HELP!!!!!

    Assuming you have an auto...

Check your tranny fluid, solenoids, and see if you have any TCU codes. If disconnnecting your battery helps, then your TCU might be on its way out.

I'm thinking that your torqe converter is going out on you. It seems like its not switching gears for you.

I'd also look for a bound up kick down cable or look for an unplugged wiring harness. Have you bottomed out recently? Maybe you damaged something internally in the tranny.

you said you re-soldered the main relay and that helped for a while? Try a NEW main relay. It's possible that the joints cracked again.

had the same problem with my auto. GOD i hated that thing when it did it. how often does it happen? check your shift solenoids. even if you replace the TCU but the problem is elsewhere then you'll still gonna get that cell from the TCU and the down shifting to 2nd.

If its 90-95 accord might be the transmission this year's for the accord are prone to transmission problems. and if you said your motor is reving high without really moving you might want to check the tranny fluid.

I would second his opinion. I would try this first, as it's the simplest explanation and fixing the main relay before fixed the problem.

i think if it is the torque converter, it would slip. i just replaced a tranny on a cb7 that had a slipping problem.

When you say you replaced the computer, are you talking about the ecu or the tcu? The ecu only controls the motor.

ok I forgot to mention. I spent almost $1,000 this summer for a newer tranny, a newer axle for the front, labor and computer. Now when I mean computer it's the one under the carpet on the passenger side. So Im not sure if its the tcu or ecu....But as far as the shift solenoids..where's that at? Oh and as far as the shifting problems. It works fine for about (depending on the day) either for about 15 mins to a few days. When I have to shift it manually from 1st to 2nd, my overdrive light stays on. I love this car but if I dont figure out what the hell keeps causing these problems, then Im just going to get rid of it because right now I put so much money in it, the parts alone cost more then the car.

That could be the ecu that you replaced. Under the carpet on the passengers side you will find the ecu and tcu. The outboard box is the tcu and the inboard box is the ecu.
