ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

CEL's after a high speed blast

last night i took my sister for a ride in the CB.
after a couple 80+ mph blasts my car died.

waited a minute and started her up again no problem.

driving home from work today i got some intermittent cut outs of the engine.

the engine lite flashed momentarily every time the car cut out.

got it home, ran the codes.

    20: electronic load detector.
where is this sensor/how do i repair the problem?
i have a feeling this is the one causing me trouble.

36: what i have found seems to be a traction control issue.
my car doesnt have TC obviously.
should i just ignore this one?

The only TC I can think of would be Torque Converter.

According to http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showpost...83&postcount=2 , there is no code 36 hmm

And the ELD is part of the underhood fusebox, its the little connector with three wires and runs to the altenator. Might just be the wires running to it, too.

      sorry
TC was spossed to be traction control.

i'll check the second code again to make sure.

by in the fusebox do you mean there is an ELD fuse?

      thanx

        Resetting ECU

        1. Disconnect Negative battery terminal (never only take off the positive, cuz it can kill the battery when it grounds all the power out, if left for a while)

        2. Look in the Underhood fuse box, find the "Hazard" Fuse. Pull it out.

        3. Let the car sit for 10-15 minutes

        4. Reattach neg battery terminal and put fuse back in

        5. Restart car w/nothing on (radio, lights, a/c) and just let it run for a few minutes.

        6. Turn off, and then it should be good to go.

Ah, thank you FuncOvrForm. That's a more comprehensive than the info I found.

The ELD is a small electronic module that's part of the fuse box, it has the small connector with three wires. I've always heard you gotta replace the whole fuse box, so maybe you'll luck out and its just one of the wires that's giving you trouble. Can't find a pic of it.

the problems actually started after i ressurected this bitch.

that thing had much bigger problems last time Func had it.

it was running great till just the other day.

i was asking how to fix them.

amazing how the guy i bought the car from has the least amount of input on his old car.

Did you end up sorting/finding out what the problems were?

Btw why resurect a nearly 2 month old thread to bash FuncOvrForm?

not trying to bash the guy at all.
he did great things for my car.
he even saved my hand from being shattered by installing hood spacers.

i just came back across this thread just now and noticed how lame his attempt was to answer my ? much less help his old car out. thats all.
no big deal in my eyes. i didnt even notice that post until now.

i figured out what was up with the car. took me about five minutes to fix.
never better. she runs great now.
