So today was the first day this started happening. I pulled out of my driveway and as my car started to roll on its own I heard this really loud squeaking noise coming from the front driver's side wheel. It sounds like metal to metal rubbing against each other. For about the first quarter to half mile the noise continued.
The thing is when the car was rolling and when I accelerated, the squealing continued but when i tapped on the brakes or was using the brakes it was very quiet. After I got out of my neighborhood the car sounded fine until I started to drive again after class for another quarter-half mile.
I tried searching for anyone with the same problems but only found a few things. I'm pretty new with the mechanical work so bear with me please.
Could the problem be the brake pads? rotors? bearing? Any help would be appreciated.
