ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

not ruling out anything...but that is a good point about the stereo system...stereo systems use voltage...starters use amperage

I've seen batteries put out 13volt after a recharge but their cca was still too low to turn the engine.

wow, thats awesome news guys, only bummer is that i kinda messed up my starter. i tried unscrewing teh front rod and it broke, and it was holding my ground bracket...so now i gotta find somewhere else to ground it.

One experience I would add is from a Dodge Ram Truck that is one of those governemnt green pickups. It has "heavy duty" stuff on it, like the emergency brake cable.

So one time at band camp, the emergency brake cable breaks and I take it into the dealer to get fixed. Took over a week to find the special brake cable. After it was installed I drove the truck about 90 miles and kept having this weird problem like the car was suddenly losing power for a few seconds.

What happened was the e-brake cable was installed to close to the exhaust and was heating up causing it to contract. Same thing could be happening to your throttle cable.

Whatever, just thought I'd add to your confusion.
Good things happen to people who know me.

lol, thanks, but no, the throttle cable is nowhere near anything else, the closest thing it comes near is the master cylinder.

but ive already gone and gotten a new battery 650 CCA, should be enough, 1050 amps total, 120 mins running time, things a beast so i hope it does the trick.

            YYYYAAAAAAAA!!!!!

good news guys, i just installed the new battery and it works. Believe it or not it was the terminal that was too caked with battery acid. I tested it with a multimeter and it was only getting 10 volts after the terminal. so i cleaned it up and it gave 12.5, then my car started perfectly. Im so happy. Thanks a lot guys!!

              Told ya.

Also, that bolt you broke may be one that's holding the transmission on to the engine.

no its not, its just a long bolt thats part of the starter. cars running fine so i doubt it even has a purpose. all it did was hold a ground anchor, but i found another grounding spot right near it which seems to be working wonders. so all is good, thanks a lot for all the input. without you gusy i would have wasted 200 bucks on a starter, wasted multiple hours swapping it, all to end up with the same problem. that would have pissed me off. turns out it was even more basic then the battery, my post just had so much acid that it was restricting voltage. it read 12.5 at the post, but 10 on the terminal, huge loss.

anyways, all is good now, thanks again!
