ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

On Board Diagnostic systems 1 and 2

OBD2 is on 96 and newer cars.

either will work for you since our cars are all OBD1.

go to the swap FAQ for all your other info.

      Yup...what he said.

I have been investigating this also, so let me add...

If this is going to be for your 91, remember that your car is OBD1. Don't worry about why that is true right now. Just know that it is. Your car is OBD1, and to make things easy, you are going to look for an H22 that is also OBD1.

It is true that you could go for either 1 or 2, but according to most of the info I have found sticking with OBD1 is going to make the swap easier for you.

Sport Compact Car has a great tutorial: H22 Swap

There are dozens of sites where you can view engines for import and the prices of them. Take your time and compare all of the sites you find. Several companies apparently import the motors, if you are planning to get one from Japan. Of course, it is also possible to find one at a junk yard, but I personally am not planning to go that route.

        not true.

an OBD1 engine is almost a direct drop in.
you would have to swap a number of parts over from the OBD1 setup to make a OBD2 engine work.
not difficult by any means but it does mean a little more work.

all the 92-96 JDM engines (H22A) you are bound to find are setup as OBD1.

That's what you're lookin' to get yourself into. Basically, with the h22 drop (OBD1), you'll have to run a few wires fromt he engine to the ecu to setup the Vtec.

i can vouch for tigerjapanese, got mine with only a busted vss and map sensor

the engine runs well and it was reasonably priced

and to the OP you dont need different axels, and you reuse the accord wiring harness with some add on's

read the swap FAQ for all the answers

Sure they do, but I don't think it will be the best place.

i JUST love how honda motors cost twice as much as toyota motors that are about the same in reliability AND make more power! pffft if it were me, i'd sell the cb7, buy a celica hatch, get the 3sgte with AWD tranny and call it a day.
