ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    suspension whoes

Well I've got a question for those with the suspension know how...

I am looking at getting NEUSPEED's Super Cup Kit: $599.99 (does this seem a bit cheap? I thought the koni yellows would be more)

includes a complete set of NEUSPEED Race Springs.
includes a complete set of NEUSPEED/Koni Sport dampers.
[They feature 5 ride height adjustment grooves (allows ±14mm of height adjustment), external rebound damping adjustment, and Koni's limited lifetime warranty.]

Are these the same as the koni yellows I hear so many speak so well of?

I do not really want to lower my car as I do much country driving and...well...lowered + country = much scrapage. But a little is acceptable.
It IS time to replace the stock setup and I might as well get something that will improve my enjoyment of driving this car. I'm looking for something sporty but I don't want that "ricer'esk" bouncy ride either. I've seen cars that just...wobble and bounce very rigidly when they hit a bump...fine for a smooth, clean track but no good for the street. I haven't yet tuned a suspension setup and would like to learn how to, so I'm not sure of this setup.

What are your thoughts? Is this going to be a good setup for improving cornering and handling and for what I'm looking for? Is this a good setup performance wise as well? I will also eventually be getting strut tower bars, etc etc...

I thought about kyb's agx's but I'm not sure they will do what i want in the future...

They are the famed koni yellows. Except better. They are specially valved for the Neuspeed race springs.

Not sure exactly what you mean by country driving gives scapes.

But Neuspeed race springs are a pretty agressive drop.

damn...guess I'll learn to dodge the potholes better...oh yeah...or slow down.

      psshhh...like that's gonna happen

Where I do most of my driving is red clay dirt roads, and blacktop that hasn't been paved in years...my driving tends to be...well...less than nice to suspension components. No bending of arms or anything, I guess it boils down to I really want my to be car rally built...but it isn't HA HA

I like that they are setup specifically for those springs...makes me feel better about putting them on for my first attempt at messing with suspension...might make it easier.

KYB AGX's are not to soft and not to stiff.

I've heard people complain they are too stiff over larger bumps due to the 'force curve' not being digressive enough (i.e. stiff enough for slow shaft speed inputs but too stiff for fast shaft speed inputs, so bumps tend to unsettle the car).

Konis are very digressive, which makes them stiff at slow speed inputs (as seen with body roll and weight transfer, thus good for handling on smooth roads) but effectively softer at fast speed inputs, which makes them supple over large bumps (good for rough road handling, as I can testify because the roads around here are truly awful, and my Konis work very well on a variety of surfaces).

Also, I've heard a number of stories about AGXs not lasting all that long, which would be worse on rougher roads. The Konis (and Bilstein) are much better quality than just about anything else (design, materials, tolerances), and thus will also tend to last a lot longer than most other brands, especially if the going is a bit rough...

Damn...that makes that setup perfect for what I want except for that 2" drop!

...course my supra sits lower to the ground then my honda...AND the supra has dual exhaust put on a body designed for single pipes which are also 3" and hang down below the underside at one point...I don't really think I'll have to much of a problem.

Maybe going up my red clay driveway...well I keep it scraped now so shouldn't have issues.

ok, so I will also replace the bushings at the same time.

So when I go with the energy suspension master bushing set, I will also need to get the bushings for the upper and lower control arms, front and rear (16 total?) that will be pressed in/out...what other bushings will I need?

Will the master kit include the sway bar bushings? What all does it NOT have?
