ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    problem with trasmission

this morning when my mother took my car to work to see how it runs. because her is exhaust is loud again i said ok. i get a call this morning saying "Joe you there is something wrong with transmission* i said ok.. what is going on? well when i driving on 495 the car would not go anymore.. (the motor was fine) then she shut it off then turned it back on it was fine for about couple hundred feet then did it again. soo i called my buddy and he said it could be a shift rod or transmission fluid.

and now i come here for help and advise of what it could be.. also its a automatic

There's a few other threads going around with this problem. I had this problem with a new tranny, a new torque converter solved it. But before you get into that check the shift solenoids.

if you can't shift at all into gear, then look into your shift cable. Mine came undone b/c the guys who rebuilt it didn't secure the tabs on the 10mm bolt that connects to the trans and the cable popped off.

Mine was doing the same thing. If you drive it can you feel it trying but just giving up like its stuck between neutral and D4?

Its like driving a stick with a bad clutch.

yeah, you still need to shift into P, R, N, D4, D3, 2, 1 via the shifter don't you? What a dumbass remark. Will your auto shift out of park by itself? Thats what I was talking about the shift cable as a possible problem. whatever good luck to the OP.

basicly after certain amount of time i guess it wants to be in Neutral and it stays there. do you think my tranmission is overheating because it only does this when its hot?

Not likely. A tranny cooler can help though.

when you get the problem does the S light blink? first try to get the codes from the tcm. there is a thread on the diy section that shows how to get the engine cel light codes(check engine light) its the same thing but you read how many times the S light blinks. if you don't have the S light then pull the drivers carpet off and you should see a light on the tcu. read how many times it blinks. a long blink is a 10 a short blink is 1. get that and tell us the codes.

ps. the worst it can be is a bad tranny.
