ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

You mean the connector on the harness is bad and you want to change out that connector? Is it just on one side? I'd say buy a 9006 connector at Auto Zone and just cut/splice the new one in.

As he said, just buy the connector from AutoZone /local parts store. Cut off the old end (around 2-3 inches in so you dont have to deal with corosion) And SOLDER the new one in with some heat shrink.... You have no idea how much i stress using solder and heat shrink... Its one of the main reasons people's shit fails after a few months (they use electical tape, and just tie both ends together, THIS IS A BIG NO NO)

It runs into the main harness...good luck trying to find exactly where to replace the entire wire. Just cut off the connecter and splice in a new one. You don't need to solder it....it is a good idea to, but crimps work. A lot of people crimp the wires together when they get JDM lights.

If your in a place with high ammounts of humidity, It can corrode the wires easily. If you live in a dry place, it has less chance of corrosion. But in the long run, so you dont have issues, you should solder it. Crimping it together can work for a while, but if your in a rainy spot, water can get in there, and can cause some damage. I have never had an electical issue with my car, and my friends, well, lets say they have had to swap harnesses because of splicing with crimps and electical tape...

Crimped up my JDM lights, wrapped it tight with electrical tape, put it in the plastic casing, wrapped that with tape....AND I like in WA. Rains all day long and still holds up

The RIGHT way is to solder, I agree. But there are always more than one way to produce the same results.
