ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Don't expect it to be fast in stock form. Our cars were designed to get groceries and commute from place to place. Along the line some of us decided to change that and mod our cars.

Check out #7. Has a few links. Some people will say it's hard to do, and some will say it's easy to do. I just think it's more of a....Time Consuming/Having Patience kind of thing.

I’d go for it, lot better deal then mine ($1500 200,000+ miles with a bad coil, bat, and alt). I’d also keep the CB around after you get your beemer fixed to use as a beater when weather is too bad for your “good” car. If you plan on swapping to a M/T and want quickness, you might thank about going with a H23 trans which has closer gear ratios. But your gas mileage will suck on the highway compared to the F22 trans, so you’ll probably be better of with the later.

If it runs, it's a good deal. $1000 for something with such low mileage is a steal. I paid $3500 for mine with 117k on it, and a rusted hole in the side. This was in 01, but still...

CBs aren't extremely quick in stock form, but they can be made quick for fairly little money. Most older bimmers weren't too quick either. More power, but they weren't geared to be sports cars... unless you have an M. The Bimmer is likely to have much more torque, though. I6s are torquey bastards. Honda I4s aren't.

Keep in mind too, the Accords basic suspension design (double wishbones all round) is way superior to the BMW suspension design (front Mac struts, and rear semi trailing arms, I think). If you want to spend X money (wisely) on the Accord's suspension (which should include good quality tower braces front and rear) then the end result should be superior to the Bimmer's with X money spent. The only fundamental superiority enjoyed by the Bimmer is that it's RWD.

The f22A engines aren't particularly powerful (the best is the f22A9 at about 150hp, but you didn't get that one in the States), but most (other than the A9) have a relatively low compression ratio so should be good candidates for supercharging (whether a SCer or turbo).

You should be able to get a good power increase with a fairly conservative turbo set up on the stock motor, and a good turbo set up should have very little lag (unless you get carried away and shoot for silly hp numbers). Just IMO, there are others on this forum who'd know more about turbo / super charging Accords than I do...
                          Regards from Oz,
                          John.

accord with no rust for $1000 and a good engine is a great deal imo.

I'm not sure If you meant you do or don't want to go turbo?
With a DSM setup, lag is pratically non-existent and the 8.8 compression of the F22 is well set for boost - Provided it is tuned properly.

Its a debated topic but IMO its cheaper/easier to make descent power off a turbo build rather than an NA build.
