Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Valve Ticking.

    I barely redlined my motor today to get into traffic and after my motor would idle funny. (from 750 up to 1500 and back) and when i got home i noticed a ticking SOMETIMES when it would go up to 1500. Now my question is, is it possible to mess up the valve lash from doing that. i know the sound is coming from right under the valve cover (i used this screwdriver against your ear/cover trick my buddy showed me) but i am just worried i am going to hurt my car if i drive it like this. it's nowhere near js593's loudness but it's the same sound.

        yea if u redline ur car it does this at times..i need a valve lash as well lol

          my real question is could it throw the lash off enough to give it a louder-than-normal tick or two every couple of seconds?

            I guess i will just go ahead with a valve lash adj. and see what happens. i am still a little worried about how and why it happened.

              If you stayed under the fuel cut off (around 6500RPM) should be no harm done.

              Tappets may have been loose to begin with.

                That's what i figure but i had a run in (three times) with my old yota pickup.
                Punched it and the clutch fan (bad clutch obviously) tore a GIANT gash in my brand new $250 three core Rad. i had to have it fixed three time because of this
                so i don't usually push it too far due to a force of habit. but when i do it always runs weird for a little while. like the whole revving high then low crap. and this time it started that ticking. I feel so naked without my CB
