ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Timing belt kit recommendations?

I'm looking for a good compromise of price without losing too much quality and wanted to find some recommendations. 2.2l on a '90.

    Ordering these parts in addition:
    Distributor Cap
    PCV Valve
Cylinder Head Gasket Set (holy gaskets! stem seals and all)
    distributor rotor
    radiator
    upper and lower radiator hoses
    spark plugs
    spark plug wires
Currently: 1996 Dodge Caravan (DD), 1990 Honda Accord LX
Currently pulling the head to fix borked valve(s). Converted to external ign. coil.
Previously: 1991 Dodge Dakota, 1995 Ford Contour GL, 1992 Mazda Protege DX

if your wantting to save money delete the balnace shaft belt but deff get OEM cam crank and balance shaft seals and get the balance shaft seal retainer as well.
        water pump oem
also a good time to check valve adjustments.
quality work and parts dont come cheap.

is the motor out of the car? if it is i would go ahead and do rear main seal clutch and oem thorw out bearing as well, if its not out of the car then i would just stick with the timing belt...

heres a cheap seggestion. when your putting it back, cut out a hole in the lower timing cover so you can slide it over the pulley so you dont have to take the pulley off to get the cover off... i would not leave the cover completely off on the bottom like some people do just because the cv axle inner boot. when it rips it throws axle grease all over the cover.. better for the cover to get it than the timing belt. "cars with intermidite shafts"

if your taking the head off to re do the head gasket then i would probally look into redoing the pistion rings and possibly new rod main and thrust bearings in the bottom end while you got it all apart
