ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Transmission question

Hello, I've gone through the threads and have a question on a 91 Accord SE auto. There are days where when starting the car, the car will not go into gear when shifting into drive or reverse. Sometimes, the issue can be resolved if shifting into D2 or D1. Other times, I just have to wait for a while with the car running before the issue goes away. No blinking S light or D4 light. This problem seems to go away after a long drive when the car is all warmed up. Does this still sound like a TCM or solenoid problem? I appreciate any feedback.

This is something i JUST dealt w/ last night on my car. It wouldn't shift into park, reverse, or neutral. I found out it was my shift cable that came loose. A 10mm bolt at the end of it came undone and eventually got looser and looser til it just fell off b/c the techs that rebuilt it didn't fold the locking tabs over the screw. This may be kinda over you head but just take a look at the thread I made about it: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=112189 A new shift cable is about 130 bucks from Honda or about 80 bucks online. So if your car is kinda hard to shift out of Park, then this would definitely solve that issue.

If your car shifts normally when its driving, then I doubt it would be your shift solenoids since they either work or they don't. But try looking at that thread, it has some useful info about transmission troubleshooting.

Hi Losiracer2, thanks for the link. I'll definitely take a look at the cable. I don't have identical symptoms where the car may roll forward when in park or reverse but my car does shift normally when its driving as you mentioned.
