ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

How do you know if your torque converter is bad

Torque converter is slipping or going bad?

Here are some things happening with my cb7, while I am driving down the road in final gear if I hit the gas the rpms drop and car lunges more forward thats the oposite of what should happen. Then when at like 55 or 60 the car will sometimes shake and other times not.

well thanks for checking this thread out.

mine does that same thing in D4. its almost like an overdrive i think. i was actually in D3 on the interstate and it did the same thing. mine doesnt shake but it does only do this every now and then. not sure but it doesnt bother me. i am curious as to what this is. PEACE

if the torque converter is slipping the RPM's will increase and you won't be going no where. I would check or replace the shift selenoids and/or tranny fluid.

on the vibration ... check your tires.. hard to tell on these things without being there...

With mine, it happened between 40-60mph.

Id be driving along, and id have my foot on the pedal, just enough to maintain current speed. So not on it, but not off it, just keeping it speed, and my RPMs would just a few hundred. I woulnt say it "lurches" but its almost like im mashing the pedal real quick then letting off. First time it happened, the person in my car was like "What are you doing that for?" and i wasnt doing anything at all.

Id say check/change tranny fluid. If that doesnt help, id look into the solenoids.

your torque converter kicks in right after you reach the desired speed. On the highway for instance, you accel. to 70, and then the RPMs drop like 300 and hold. Its kinda hard to explain.
