ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Transmission Issues????

OK so i had a problem with my transmission i was driving home from work one day (93 Honda Accord 10th Anniversary just put a transmission 3months ago)and all of a sudden it went out on me. I was driving about 50mph and it wwas like it went into neutral, i just revved up reallly high and my car began to slow down. I would turn it off, wait a few minutes, turn it back on and it would work for about 40secs and it would happen again. So i asked around and they told me it could be the shift solenoid. So i bought one off someone here and put it on and still the same problem. Whats the next step for me?

Also when i put the accessory switch before i turn on the car the D4 light turns on and then goes off but it doesnt blink if i put it in gear. I dont know if that is a tcu issue or what? or if it has anything to do with it?

Time for a rebuild or a new torque converter. Before that check the shift solenoids on top of the tranny.

its just weird that it would be that tranny. It goes into the gears when i first start up but then it goes out. Do you think it could be the tranny?

after reading through it,that is the same problem i had with my two past auto transmissions
same exact problem,i change solenoid ,tcu, flush.
but still nothing ,that's why i did my 5spd swap quick .
when i opened up my tranny it was dirty than a mother fucker (filter all clog up with dirt)
you definitely gonna need to get your tranny rebuilt or just pop it open and change your filter inside and clean your tranny up good. .
,but i recommend you go with a full rebuilt kit

as big phil said,,, its a tranny issue 90% of the times..... what happens is that while driving that filter gets clogged up and the fluid/oil can't pass threw.... when you turn off the car, all the dirt falls down with the oil.. that is why when you start the car, it will work fine for about a min or so....

i thought our auto tranny didn't have a filter but more like a mesh screen?

Try a TCU first, since its the problem most of the time and pretty cheap.
                    wat?

I had this problem myself. I rebuilt the tranny but I didn't change the converter and a few months later same thing. After driving it a bit every gear was neutral.

I decided to go 5spd but a member on here stole my money, I was down 650 for that, 284 on ESP conversion mounts. My car sat for a while and was even broken into and my in car computer was stolen.

After a while I just had to get it fixed and I replaced the torque converter and its been fine ever since. I even cracked the tranny twice after that, patched it up filled it and its running strong.

How did you flush the transmission?

you're gonna need 12 quarts of tranny fluid (i recommend HONDA ATF).

1- you drain your tranny out .then you pour 3 quarts in there .
and run the car for like 7-10 minutes by going through all the gears .

2-you drain it out again and pour 3 quarts in there again ,and do the same thing ( go through all the gears 7-10 min)

3- you drain it out again and do the same thing .

4- you drain it out and add the remaining 3 quarts in there and you good to go

it'll be easier if you have a lift

Ok that's what I was thinking you were meaning but i know there is also a machine that can do it to.
