ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Weird.

I just have never, ever seen a "coil" as small as out factory one, and I've had 3 Honda's.

I'm not basing it soley on size too. You have to admit they look friggin small.

I'd love to see some stats comparing factory coil output to MSD.

I've had a Civic then Prelude now my Accord.

I'm all about the proof and results.

The stock ignition system on our cars is just fine. You won't feel an upgrade. The best you'll get is a smoother idle.

I have an MSD SCI that I'll be putting on, but only because I got it cheap from a friend that needed the cash.

IIRC, its generally .044, most new plugs will come pregapped.
I used the NGK copper v-power for over 50,000 miles then switched to the NGK IX iridium just for the longer interval between changes.

never trust a "pregapped" plug, lord knows whos dropped it, thrown it or even stepped on it.

NGK V power plugs are good plugs, hands down. and only $1.99 at your local Oreillys autoparts. hahahah.

Are the Ngks G-powers are good for the CB? I work at autozone and I wanted to put in the IX iridiums thinking I should put the best while I get the discounts, but a fellow co-worker said that they are to hot for Hondas. Whats the effects when running a plug too hot, any damages or performance difference?

I changed to the NGK Iridium IX plugs a year ago for the longer change intervals. Test equipment might be able to tell the difference, but I can't.

Simple semi-educated answer: a plug with too high a heat range won't reach self-cleaning temperature. It'll become fouled and whatnot.
If the heat range is too cold, then the electrode and ground strap can start to melt.

Plugs are sold at certain heat ranges. Just get the proper range for your engine and it'll be fine.

Jam, not changing the plugs won't kill your car... it'll just make it run like shit, and give you lousy gas mileage. Suck it up and spend the $10 to replace the plugs. Seriously. Don't knock on wood... just change your damn plugs. Do the cap and rotor as well. That's another whopping $7 you'll have to spend.
