ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Just like these coilovers I got this past winter.....were ALL 4 front springs? But hey, I only paid 45 bucks for them. What could I expect? Come to find out, ALL the ebay coilovers are all 4, one size. So, now my backend bounces...and grinds, and squeals, and clinks, clanks, oh how I'd love to burn down the Ebay coilover factories. They should be illegal, honeslty. The way my car drives, driving normally....take a turn at 40mph, when it specifically says...40, yea...1 little bump, and the backend wants to whip out. I knew I shouldn'tve put them on. I called my friend and was like....dude, lets put my stock springs back in. He told me....are you really going with the h22? I told him yes, and he said...go new with the struts and springs. Good man, good man.
What surprised me though, is that...the front ones..fit perfectly, ride perfectly...and don't bounce. Only the back, so if the backs were bigger (like they should be), wouldn't be such a safety issue as it is now.

You can pair the GR-2's with a nice PROGRESSIVE RATE spring and be ok. I used the Sprint 2.25 lowering springs over KYB's for a year or so on some horrendous roads and they rode great. Sprint springs are progressive rate so they tend to ride better. SOme other examples of progressive rate springs are eibachs, neuspeeds, tein's, ST's etc... A more complete list can be found in the Suspension section.

However, I purchased my Sprint springs from Auto Anything here: http://www.autoanything.com/suspensi...0A1805478.aspx

The 2.2.5 drop is only $160 for all 4 springs and they ride NICE. They are very nice springs. coupled with GR-2's you can have a decent strut/spring combo for a good price.
This will also help when you start looking for camber adjustment kits, since you'll be saving money on the springs/struts.
Yea, honestly....I'm not into the stiff/soft suspension. I just want something nice, that's gonna help the handling, and help me out when swerving past a deer in the middle of the road. haha, but yea man...I'll check this stuff out. I don't wanna go cheap, but at the same time...don't wanna go all out. I won't be racing in tournaments, so I'ma keep it simple.

This is a fairly basic setup. Any brand can be sold on ebay, that doesnt mean you should discount the brand. Just means you should buy from a reputable source. Auto Anything has never done me wrong.

It sounds like in the past you've dealt with cheap Ebay sleeve-over type coilovers. Which are basically four High-rate springs cut to the same size and thrown on an aluminum threaded perch. These you definitely want to stay away from. If you've only ridden on these in the past, ANY progressive rate spring will feel like a Lexus in comaparison.

Sprint springs are nice and dont cost too much, I'd choose them over Dropzone anyday.

Dude, Dropzone is one of the biggest "ebay brands" ever... and they're well deserving of the rep that accompanies that... Sprint is quality. Dropzone is... not.

On the Autoanything (site you posted), for the Sprint springs...they gave you a 2.25" drop? Iuno, readin' on it and it says..

"Sprint Lowering Springs are expertly engineered to take you down to the ideal height-between 1 ˝" and 3 Ľ" "

Just wonderin', cause I think you guys talked me into these.

            Sprint makes 3 seperate springs for our car. 1 1/4, 2 1/2, and 3 1/4".

However, autoanything doesnt sell the 3 1/4" springs (they used to, but doesnt matter, that would be too low for you anyways. I believe a member by the name of KMart used to run those springs).

They sell the 1 1/2" springs for $190.00

And they sell the 2 1/2" springs for $160.00

            I believe the 3 1/4" springs were around $180.00

Dont ask me why the lower drop is cheaper. Just believe me. You wont regret the ride.

yessss. The drop PLUS the drop with the steelies. Exactly what I was lookin' for.

Yea, I'm runnin' on steelies right now. Heard the 14's would improve a tad on the take off/acceleration. They weren't really lying either. Thanks man for the links to the photos.

I can't recommend the AGX anymore.

I had a set in my Accord and ran them for about 10-15K miles lowered on Neuspeed Sports...progressive rate springs with a non-aggressive drop (I believe it was rated at 1.8F but in reality was closer to a 1.5 with the AGX jack-up), and when I removed them to sell the setup to another member, I was informed that the struts were blown and were junk.

The AGX are warranteed to 1.5" down. It's not worth it. Save up and get Koni Yellows.

wow, i just found this thread, and someone already posted a pic of my car

i love my gr2's/sprint springs, they ride very smooth, close to stock actually, but look and handle pretty well. since i put the 17's on, i wish i had a little less wheel gap, but the drop with the steelies looked sick.

I got a set of never used rear gr2s sitting in the attic, if you were closer I'd give them to you. Or I can trade for a coupe passenger window lol.
