ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

ok...if it is the same would it be better to keep the bottom and put a h23 or maybe an h22 head on it?

depends on what you want from the car. the h23 head is the exact same thing as far as flow goes so its useless as far as an upgrade and the h22 head would be a fairly good up grade if you could find one cheap. but you will have to do some modifications to the head. look at a head gasket for an f22ax and look at one for an h22. you'll see the differences. in my opinion i would just find a set of h23 cams and send them out to delta and get 272 regrinds. i think its like $100-$125 per camshaft, then get up with MRX and get a chipped p06 for about $150-$200 and get it dyno tuned. what all do have done to it now?

all depends on your long term goals. frank motors usually dont last that long so i would do a head swap especially an h22 head. for the price for the mods you can actually get a motor swap. if you are looking for a n/a motor h22. if you wanna go turbo get an h23 or f22b. same hp different torque. with the right turbo you wouldnt really notice the difference. so its up to you

he's right, a good mod would be the h22 head, but modding the f22 is fairly cheap. a dsm turbo setup can build some pretty good numbers. but make sure to upgrade to a 16g if possible on the dsm manifold. and i dont recommend much more than 8-10psi.

the h23 head is actually different from the f22b. the h23 has quench? ont he sides of the chambers. also remember that the bottom end of the f22b is a f22a which is 85mm bore. a h23 bore is 87mm so with that being said, a h23 might have a larger diameter combustion chamber.

and to correct myself I WOULD NOT do the h22 head simply because the f22 bottom end is not meant to rev as high as the h22 head and the low compression pistons can not take full advantage of that head. but as I stated above the frank motors dont usually last that long. Only people I know of is lodollar and dep22. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

i am planning on getting an f22b and buiding it for a turbo. I was wondering which would be the best way to build as far as internal upgrades.
