ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Which setup are you doing? (A6 complete swap, a6 manifold/h23 plenum)? The throttle body opening in the h23 is bigger, so the 3" would probably be a benefit. Not sure about the a6 plenum. I should get a 3" cai just to see if it would work. With the 2.5, car strains for air. Well, the Ebay 2 1/4" ******

A6 mani/H23 plenum combo, best of both worlds.
I know right now the engine feels like it could use more air. Maybe I'll get creative and move the battery, get a 3" CAI, and build an air box up front.

You could acutally get away with not having to move the batt. w/ the 3" CAI. It barely cleared my ABS res. and my strut tower bar but it did and I heard no clunking when the trans was shifting gears.

here's a pic of what it looked like installed. Oh btw, I've got the H23 Plenum/TB....that was the whole purpose of getting the 3 inch....to flow a bit more air.

Yeah I know I don't have to, just that the engine bay looks SO much cleaner without it.

for a normal F22 though....it should be more than enough right? it redlines at 6300 or something.

this is on a mazda...but the guy did a dyno of 3" vs 2.5"...go down to a little under halfway on the page

seems the 3" did better higher in the rpm range, seems the 2.5 was best until 3000rpms...where the engine doesn't make it's most power...but of course...this is NOT the same engine...but it is an N/A 4cyl so similar results MAY be seen. But...not the same engine. It doesn't make it clear what year or engine...could be a 2 to 2.3L 4cyl...it does say N/A

                    Not sure if that helps...

Any little bit of info helps.

I'll get the intake mani/TB put together then decide if the 2.5" is going to stay or go.

Yea, from what everyone's sayin'......you'll either lose a LITTLE top end, and gain low-end. Or lose a LITTLE low-end, and gain top end. Doesn't seem like you'll lose much either way, but if you're a 5 speed...I'd go for more top end. Low-end seems more important to an Automatic, knowing that...if you're to actually race with a 5 speed (take off from a dig), you'll most likely spin the tires into 3,000rpms anyway. I've got a hell of a lot more top end (automatic), so it's fun when I take off and they pull ahead, then by the time I'm at 5k and the butterflies open, doesn't take much time for them to see tail lights.

<----- Auto too, but not ashamed. Compared to most others out there it performs very well.

Yeah our autos right out of the gate can be a bit slow but once you hit 4800 or so, see ya later.

Yes sir, and when I drop the H in, I'ma stay auto. I just think it's fun to build on 'em. If the tranny can't hold the power, I'll just mod up the tranny. Shocks people to see an automatic pull so hard.
