Boost falls off after 3psi

honestly bro your always going to have turbo lag theres no way to prevent it but idk what you mean when you say turbo lag be more specific bro...

is it tuned? what boost level? what size turbo?

Some turbos have little to no lag at all, especially the 14b and the big 16g.

People talk about lag all the time, but in all reality, it isnt a huge issue on most of our setups.

Make sure things are sealed also to add on what chess said. Pinhole leaks and loose couplers are a bitch.

Yeah, check your couplers as mr nail said. Especially check them where there is a turn, I used to blow mine off fairly often. Getting your pipes bead rolled will help this a lot.

Also, are you internal wastegate or external?

If it is internal, check the wastegate arm to make sure that it is not bent a lot to keep the wastegate open more. If it is open more, it will create a lag affect for sure.

im boosting 5psi right now on a t28 xs power turbo wit 550 rc injectors and a 255 walboro fuel pump once i get to 2 or 3 psi it just dies out

wats up chess everything is pretty tight and my computer is not tuned but im running 5psi internal wastegate t28 the arm is fine when i get to 2 or 3psi thats when it starts acting up not boosting and running like crap

Get a tune.

What map are you on?
What map sensor are you running?

If your map sensor does not match up to what is on your ecu tune, its not going to run at all.

Also, GET A TUNE.

I know a lot of people who have blow'd up their shiz running on a basemap.

t28 xs power is that the ebay brand turbo? they are cheaply made china junk. That wouldnt help the problem either

It shouldn't be an issue now, though. 6 months from now, the turbo will probably fall apart, but for now, it's not a huge deal.



Unless the OP is leaving something out, am I correct in my assumption that the car is being run on a stock ECU? With 550cc injectors? If that's the case, that would be the problem right there.

Yeah, and the stock ecu has absolutely no clue what to do under boost.

Surprised nothing has gone to shit yet. He cant keep it under boost since t28 spools up pretty quick lol.
