ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i plan on doing some track racing in the near future, just need my struts. I have tein lowering springs, an ST rear sway bar, strut tower bars, tie bar, and energy suspension front end link bushings. plus 16 x 6.5 in. wheels which make a really big difference. right now it handle's about the same as my buddy's lowered prelude, but once i get my struts i'll be ready for anything.

WINTER = HONDA UPRAGES - Last year was a HUGE suspension upgrade. This year its cockpit upgrades, brakes, wheels, and a possible tune and/or motor swap.

most important is setup, get your tire pressures dialed in.

Start out stock, race in the stock class. I wish i wouldve started out that way...well i kinda did. I had stock tires(now Nitto 450 on 15's) but im running full adjustable coilovers, no struts(yet) and header/intake. In STS class. Check out my members to see what all my mods...

Tire pressure IS very important. I check it before and after each run. Adjusting to see what i like...

I plan to stay in the STS class next year and tune out the CB7 for that specific class.

True. But to be competitive in stock class you pretty much need R-compound tires.

The driver is the most important part in Autox. Work on that first or else your just going to ruin your new tires anyway.

I agree. You should read all the rules for the different classes and deside which one you want to run in before you go buying random parts. You can only modify or install certain things in each class. As a novice you don't want to get thrown in with a high end class of tweaked out cars that have been built specifically for autocrossing just because you bought a bunch of parts you thought would make you competitive. With the way they separate the different classes autocross is more about the driver than the car. Good luck

listen to what Gman and wed3k said. Go to a couple events and figure out if its the thing for you, you dont need good tires just make sure they are not worn completly out or down to the cords(the inner structure of the tire made from nylon or metal). Make sure the battery is tied down and there are no major leaks. Clean out the interior so nothing will be flying around and possibly getting stuck under the pedals. Go with an open mind and ask a lot of questions, get there early enough to walk the course several times so you dont get lost on every single run. good luck and have fun

Hey, you ever auto-x with SCCA?
Tomorrow night there is an event at Knights Stadium. I will be there, not driving the CB7 though (damn upper ball joints). I will be driving something though. Probably an 07 Mini.

why is the first thing everyone said for mods was coilovers?
set your car up for stock class, get a feel for the car.
once you have the feel for the car, than start to modify it.
and dont buy cheap coilovers when you get to that point, id trade my d2's for koni yellows and h&r's any day

theres no point in getting full coil overs right now. dont do it. Make sure your car is safe and focus on maintaining it. When you feel you are outdriving the stock suspension thennnnn you can start your mods.
