ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    I have shit luck

Why the hell would my accord give me shit now? I just replaced alot of suspension parts and tires and today it wouldnt turn on. Basicly its acting like the igniter has gone out. I tried jump starting and it sounds like its not getting either full or spark. I placed a screw driver to the boot of the plug wire and had it cranked over. I Didnt see any spark maybe its too bright out? Well how can I check with a multimeter my igniter and coil ? I bought it back when i was 16 and I dont know how to use it. Thanks

No i think the cp mike deal might fair better in race app of some sort or a beast not a Daily Driver. I think Ill try replacing the Coil with an aftermarket unit first hence its easy to spot and cheaper than an oem coil.

there's a rubber Dizzy O ring that gets hard over time. Thats what's prob. causing your leak...thus frying the ignitor w/ hot oil. And to test the coil, get a haynes. They've got all the resistance values in the book.

thanks man. I think I might just use some black silicone for now untill i can buy one unless its fairly cheap then why not. Tommorrow im off and ill be checking out my distributor. I hope its just some oil or carbon build up I can clean away. or A simple coil problem not a igniter. update at noon

I'm willing to bet that its just the distributor is beat up, the o-ring spoken of isn't hard to replace and is probably the problem. Also, I've had a similar issue before. Check the distributor, coil and obviously fuel. Its your typical 3 things you want to check when the motor isn't running or properly, fuel, ignition and air....

Start from the easiest to the more difficult but CHECK it don't just replace it.

fixing tha o-ring wont make it start. when my dizzy took a shit on me i had tha same problem. took buyin a new coil and shit 2 figure it out. so $180 later i bought a new dizzy and the bitch fired right up. all in all i spent bout $300 jus to get my car startin all over a stupid lil oil leak.

Gee thanks fellas. I put an ohm meter on the coil today and I dont get a reading on the A and C terminals but I get small Reading on the B and D terminal. I might just throw an aftermarket tube(FORD style) type coil on it. Is the shaft supposed to wiggle around a bit?

the insides dont have any oil inside so im guessing its the coil. Im replacing the three seals any how. for now ill replace the coil and wait before I buy another IGNEITER
