ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Squeeling noise when I turn my steering wheel

I'm hoping this is a fairly simple problem and can be easily fixed. Whenever I turn my steering wheel a few degrees it makes a squeel I was told it could be my bushings. Has anyone else had this problem or know what can be causing this?

Your power steering belt could be lose. You might want to check that first.

It could also be low power steering fluid but if its more of a higher pitch noise, probably the belt like 91accord said.

I've had this problem for over a year now and nobody can seem to figure out what is wrong with it. Mine is like a squeal/moan sound. It's not the power steering fluid and I'm pretty sure it isn't the belt either.

Might be the PS pump itself going out. Mine made a moaning sound before it seized on me.

Mines been doing it for 2+ years. My powersteering is heavier than my friends 92', so I have a feeling that it is, indeed, the pump.

nope i definatly don't get any sort of clicking noise or popping. Define what you consider a "moan". Power steering fluid could be the cause because it hasn't been changed/filled for quite some time. I'm going to go tighten the belt tomorrow is it very difficult?

does this happen when you turn the wheel slightly? or does it only happen when you are first taking off and turning it drastically??

you could just be low on fluid. Make sure you buy the HONDA PS fluid. The PS pump is very picky when it comes to fluid.

Sounds like a bad PS pump. Junkyard it, pay a dirt cheap amount for a working one and throw that bad boy on.

it only happens for the first few degrees of turning once i get past a certain point i can't hear it. I'm not sure if it happens when im just stopped or driving cause i can't hear it when im cruising around

Maybe go to an empty parking lot, have one of your buddies drive the car around while you're outside, see if it does it while moving.
