ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Valve Lash Adjustment

Im going to attempt replacing my crank pulley as well as the lower spark plug tube o-rings. is there a special type of valve adjustment screwdriver i need? i c one here on amazon that says:
Alltrade 648827 10-Millimeter 7-1/2-Inch Jam Nut Valve Adjustment Tool.

    will it do the job?

    #2
you dont need a special tool. what i usually do is leave the feeler guage between the valve and rocker arm and keep measuring as i adjust and finally tighten.

took me about 30 minutes yesterday.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

Did you have any trouble with the screw being stuck to the nut? I remember trying to do mine and the adj. screws were practically welded to the nuts.

i havent had any problems with a 100k motor and even my 212k motor. you can try cracking them loose after you run the motor. just pop the valve cover and crack em loose.

I can easily get the nut loose but then the screw turns with it. They're stuck together.

which is why i ask about 'the tool'. the tool has a socket to hold the nut and a screwdriver-like object which projects through its shaft and will turn the screw, as the nut is held in place.

It will make it easier... but if you just hold a screw driver and tighten the nut w/ a 10 mm you should be fine.

                    Question...

What is the clearance for our motors? Int / Ext.

                    Are they all the same for all F22A1 / 4 / 6 ?

I just dont want to do mine as I hate fartin around with getting #1 on the power stroke. Is there a posting that covers doing this from start to finish?

                      .010 and .012" respectively.

i dont care what stroke it is on, i just make sure that im on the back of the camshaft lobe when im checking it. make sure the car is completely cool too.

There a picture of that special tool somewhere. Just search for it. Although you don't really need a special tool for you to do it...
