ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Temporarily Securing Car?

My 90 LX was stolen on Monday night or Tuesday morning. The police called today to say it has been recovered. The police mentioned the ignition switch was destroyed. Since it will be parked in the same neighborhood it was stolen from, I'm nervous about leaving it, in an even easier to steal condition until I can get the parts and repair it.

What would be the best way to make sure nothing happens again until get it back together?

Hopefully the thieves didn't do much damage, and they were caught. I didn't ask many questions today, but I'll try to find out more details later today when I go the the police department for the release from the tow yard.

well remove the battery for one, so that there will be no power supplied to even start the car.

And I've seen these clamps you can put on your wheels that make the car immobile unless they're removed. But they can be quite expensive. Kinda what parking enforcement officers use if you have too many unpaid parking tickets.

Lol the boot, thats what they are called. I would love to buy of them. I think I need to go google them. Though it still doesn't sound as fun as booby trapping it, and leaving the windows down and doors unlocked. Make an example

I've seen a steering club that was on the car, sitting on the passenger side floor after the car was recovered from being stolen in the past. The club was still locked, and the wheel wasn't cut. I have no idea how they did it, but I won't be wasting my money on one anytime soon.

All i can say is im sorry man, i know what its like.

Look at th starter. Take off the Bolt that holds the pos. Hot wire from the bat. Thats if you dont want to takeout the battery.

My ladies 96 v-tec got jacked one day, and the only reason we got it back was becouse she didnt put any gas in it befor she went to work. IM talkin like, 25 mi. on the gas light. It ran out of gas about 30mi away.

ALso, when you replace the ignition, Your gonna have to drill out 2 big rivets on the factory ignition. This might make U nervouse, but dont worry, the new one will bilt right up.

Sorry fore your loss man. Its a hard thing to deal with. I had my very 1st CB jacked and then wrapped around a tree. THen 5 yrs. later, like i stated above, my girls Cd5 was jacked.

To protect it, look at the Under-dash fuse box. The BIG BROWN plug, with like 15 wires is the ignition. JUst unplug it. Its a deturant.

i noticed no one has mention a fuel cut/kill switch for the fuel pump.

                    no fuel no start

we'll leave up to your imagintion on where to install it.

I didnt see those post above.

Yeah, my girls car had a The Club in it when it was jacked.....Lol....in the back seat!

And about booby traps; I work with this old muscle car guy, you know what he used to do with his 72 Duster? He hooked a car battery to the door handles! Aparently the cop didnt like it evenback then.

If you live in a bad hood, theres nothing you can do. THE BEST THING TO DO IS GET TIGHT WITH YOU NEIGHBORS! Last wed. at 1;30 am, my neighbor cop-knocked on my door, only to tell me that he chased someone away from my car... I have an alarm and stuff, but shit. HE HAS DONE THAT 3 TIMES FOR ME. I CANT REPAY SOMEONE FOR THAT. JUST TELL EVERYONE IN YOUR NEARBY HOUSES ABOUT POEPLE STEALING CARS! THE MORE EYES YOU HAVE ON A CAR, NOT JUST YOURS-BUT ANYONES, TH BETTER OFF YOU ARE! Im at the point where i stay up till 3 am, every night just so i can keep an eye out. Shit is just so sad nowadays.

I was thinking more along the lines of rigging an electronic paintball gun with darts, well not really darts, more like 6 inch long 3/4" round spikes, with crystal draino or rat poison glued to it, to the face.

You know, i always thought of a battery kill, but i dont like the idea of resetting my ecu everyday. I never even thought of a fuel punp kill. That a dan good idea.

My alarm has whats called a starter kill. When the alarm is triggered, it will disable the starter. Its a cool feature.
