Has anyone tried using cb5 r134a a/c components such as receiver dryer, compressor, etc. There are plenty of cb5's in my local junk yard that still have a complete ac system. It would be nice if they can fit in our cb7's so we can convert to the 134a system for cheap. I dont think its worth buying all those components brand new since our cars are old. Oh yeah, r12 refrigirant are already banned here in california.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I am piecing things together with the following parts:
4g Prelude r-134a compressor (from parts car)
4g Prelude front A/C line (just looks nicer, from parts car)
4g Prelude r-134a dryer, not yet installed. (parts car)
$19 retrofit kit and guide, with fitting adapters (on the way)
check out this kit at http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/fjc2530.html , I think this should work ok.
Maybe I'll be able to get it running by the time winter comes

Sometimes they will also recommend changing high pressure line as well.
Your compressor is fine, leave it...receiver drier...replace...especially since you usually replace o-rings and etc cause sometimes the new stuff messes with the old stuff.
It's mostly gonna cost you on labor, to pull the r-12, vacuum and recharge with r-134. The fittings I keep seeing 'em go for around 50...with orings____

Forgot to mention I'll be getting new o-rings from Honda for all the a/c fittings in the engine bay.
I'm hoping the Accord and Prelude dryer assemblies are similar enough to let me swap without bending lines- I'll see after I get my gaskets and take the bumper off.
