ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    F22a1 Vs F22a6 Camshaft

Does A F22a6 Cam Make More Horsepower In A F22a1 Engine? Do You Need To Change The Ecu If You Change The Cam Over.

Has Anyone Done This Mod, And Did It Make A Difference?

search is your friend for all things a6 convo related...but I will answer

You will also need the a6 intake plenum down to the runners (everything in-between btw), and the a6 ecu. Do yourself a favor...do a search for WHY you want the a6 intake parts...you will learn not just about the f22, but about engine design

by itself the cam will not do too much. The ecu and intake are needed to take full advantage of the a6 into a1 swap.

Don't forget the a4's tubular exhaust manifold! That will help as well.

Also a spacer, I believe made by blacktrax, will gain some more power!

So what else can we help you with?

Yes, that's one of the "30hp for 500 bucks" mods. The difference between the A1, and the A6 is the Camshaft, Header, Ecu, and Intake Manifold. The Ecu has no governor, and opens and closes the butterflies in the A6 intake manifold. But, the difference between the A1 and the A4, is the header, and the A4 header's better than the A1 and A6's. Honestly, if you're gonna try a cam upgrade, a few members on this forum would tell you to just send yours in to get it a regrind done. Delta/Bisimoto. I used to have an A6, and it blew, so I bought an A1, but switched my intake manifold and header from my A6, and I already had the A6 ecu, but I probably lost about 4-5 horses since the only thing I haven't done to completely get my A6 back, was the Cam. I'ma just send mine into Delta and get a 260 regrind. I figure, either way, I'ma pay a few bucks for a camshaft. Why not pay a little extra and get a better deal? And honestly, if you're gonna get an Ecu, and don't plan on gettin' the A6 manifold, try gettin' a p12 from a 92-95 2.2 Non-Vtec prelude. They come with the f22a1, but the Ecu from the Prelude gives their f22a1 an extra 10 horses. There's a thread on here that's something like.."30hp for 500 bucks or less", exactly for the F22a1 engine. It's hard to find on the search engine though.

Thanks for the help, you guys are awesome. I have the pt 12 ecu, so i presume the pt6 would be the right option?

Ok so i have a h23 in a parts car that has a bad crank, so I am planning to do the intake swap also. I race this thing in a single ohc class at a local dirt track and everything has to appear stock, so no aftermarket is an option.

After the intake swap, I was wondering the next step. We are not required to run the cat or exhaust, so would the A4 header make a big difference still.
