And what GhostAccord's sayin' about it....the hesitation's probably not cause of the lack of air, but the lack of fuel. That means it's gonna want more fuel?! Nooooooooooooo!!!!! This thing's supposed to give me better gas mileage. Damnit!!

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

lol...It's hard to get more MPG (Less fuel consumption) When your adding more air. Honda AFR's are set at 14.7:1. That's 14.7 parts Air to 1 part fuel. The more air you introduce means more fuel is needed to keep the stoich AFR of 14.7:1.
I'm still waiting for someone to post the mythical MPG gains of a 3" CAI over the stock Honda engineered Intake system. Keep in mind that the stock Honda engineered intake system was created to maximize fuel efficiency, power and lower intake noise based on the particular vehicles specs.
Sure there are wives tails of gaining a few MPG here or there. I would have to say that Honda's research into the matter is much better than any myths out there. Even the HHO crap that people are trying now is a waste of time for a whooping 3-5 MPG. It's just more DIY crap to break down an already solid working engine. IF you don't want to pay to run your car buy a scooter. Don't add aftermarket performance parts.Last edited by GhostAccord; 06-28-2008, 10:50 AM.

Vacuum lines? Nope. The pipe on the intake only came with 1 hole for a line, and that's the line that connects to the valve cover. I completely took my vacuum line off the plenum, haven't plugged it yet. But, it's currently at home, and I don't have it hooked up to the short-ram, and there's no problem at all? Runs just like it did when I had it hooked up. Well, aren't there 2 vacuum lines? One on the throttle body, and one on the right of the plenum? The one on the throttle body, I have plugged. (The one that connected to the stock airbox next to the battery). But yea, this intake has no slots to plug anything in, but the line from the valve cover. I have this cold-air hooked up the same way I have the short-ram hooked up.I reset the ECU after everything I do. Normally, I unhook the negative when I do everything. Even when I change the oil. But, if it has to do with something mechanically/engine-wise...I take the ecu fuse out. When I replaced the o2 sensor, someone told me to pull the radio fuse? Guess it worked. So let me get this straight. You had a short ram. Pulled that off, cleaned your induction system and put on a CAI and not only did your performance decrease, but you could actually WATCH your fuel gauge drop. You put the short ram back on and your performance is even better than it was originally, and you're thinking of doing an even CHEAPER CAI? Seriously? Why not save yourself work, money and frustration and LEAVE THE SRI ON?!?!~If everybody you knew jumped off a bridge...the bodies would pile high enough to break your fall if you jumped after them.~

i just cut the bottom half of my stock airbox out of the bottom of the box(does that make sense?). sounds better, thats what i was going for. got rid of the small 2 tubes that disapear into the fender. my next step is to get rid of the stock piping,(prolly pvc)cuz the stock piping has alot of ridges along it, making turbulance. but, yeah, go with what works for your particular use.you'll love my nuts!

Well, see...I was fine with the short-ram, but once the engine gets warm, and it sucks in the hot air, I might as well put my damn stock intake and airbox back on it. I was just looking for a way to get cooler air in, and I found that one....bein' a Cold-Air, AND bein' blue. It looked so pretty under the hood. Just sucks that they'd F'n lie like that man. They even SAY it's 3" piping EVERYWHERE. That's like a McDonalds commercial sayin' they've got Big Mac's now for 2 dollars, and it's ALL over the commercial, then you get there and it's $3.50. What a damn rip off.98' Mustang 3V Swap
