ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Python 990 2-Way Security System/Remote Start with SST Technology?

i really didnt know which thread this topic was suppose to go to since im still a noob at this forum (sorry OGs) so ima just post it here since it seems most logical lol.

anyways so i was looking at getting a new alarm system since i got some subs and a amp in my car and i dont want anyone to start messing with my car. i searched around and man finding a paging alarm with remote start is expensive! but i did come across a python 990 alarm brand new at cc for 150 which is 400 off msrp!!! woo! i checked around shops and they said it would cost 300 to install. is that about right for the price of installation? and i was kinda iffy about letting CC install it since the price was so low only at 170 for installation..
so what i want to know is..
    - does anyone have a python or had experience having one in there car and how was it
    - should i get it at CC and let them install it
    - should i find another alarm

hope to hear from all you guys soon!

Python's quite respectable, so its a good bet to go with it.

Whether you want to let CC do the job is another question. If I were you, I'd find an alarm specialist shop near your neighborhood, buy the alarm @ CC, and then get it installed @ the alarm shop.

Those stores have a lot of experience, esp compared to CC. Not that CC is bad, but they have to handle audio installs, etc, as well. Plus the alarm shops are usually quick and reasonably priced.

the previous owner spent 315 on a DEI Hornet alarm sys. w/ remote start on my car back in 2003....so I would think that it should be around 250 or so, since that technology is pretty well known now.

Viper and Python are both owned by directed. Their effectively the same products, and you'll get the same high quality from both products.

300-400 is insane for an install. My friend got a similar alarm, minus the remote start from an alarm store. Installation, including the price of the alarm, totaled $350.

I guess if I were you, I'd either install it myself or settle with CC. Maybe try to ask their previous customers or find reviews for that CC?

                good luck with it.
