Engine sputtering

It runs!!

Just finished the distributor swap and it started and reved to redline drove it down the road and had no problems. Now I need to install a muffler and replace the right cv axle it clicks.

When i bought my Cb the muffler was rusted off and it sputtered and backfired at like 4grand, its just backfire becasue of no backpressure in the exhaust, Does it do this under load(eg driving) too becasue if it does it might be something biger.

I want it to rev to redline just like most cars do. Does your car start to sputter at 3600 rpm's while in gear going down the road and while parked? If you don't have something helpful to say please read the post and move to the next.

Now that I changed the distributor and adjusted the timing it runs just fine at idle and while driving. The muffler being gone is just making it really loud and gives it a bad exhaust smell in the car.

Thanks for the warning and I would of taken it as a joke if he had given me a bit of advise. As an administrator he should see that I was not being rude at all I was just trying to find a solution to my problem. Anyway I will apologize to deevergote if he did take offense.
