Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    preferred o2 sensor

So, bought an o2 sensor. Bosch, cheapest one Advance had, and yep..lasted a few days. Took the one the mechanic put in my trunk, rewired it, lasted a few hours. Now I'm throwing a #1 and #43. Gas mileage is pretty shitty, and alls I want....is an o2 sensor that's gonna work. This all started when I got my exhaust fixed. (got a catalytic put on). Once the car's inspected, I'ma throw a straight pipe back on it. Seems like everything that has to be replaced on this damn car, has to be "special". Special brake pads, special o2 sensor, special catalytic convertor. It's killing me!! So, bosch didn't work out for me. Anyone know an o2 sensor that will work? All of this was fine, I never had an o2 sensor code EVER, even after the engine swap. But the DAY I got a catalytic convertor put on my car, CEL came on. #1 and #41. Now it's just throwing #1 and #43. Someone sent me a site for an OEM o2 sensor, but it was a site for spark plugs. I have an Advance Auto parts, and Napa nearby. If anyone prefers a brand they sell, lemme know!

X2 The OEM ones last forever - Ie its lasted over 15 years.
Put an OEM one on and you should be good. Did the exhaust have a cat originally, Also where is the sensor mounted?

Bosch o2 sensors NEVER work properly for our cars.

i replaced my O2 sensor with an OEM honda one. works great, instantly went up 200kms a tank.

BUT, everyone says get the NTK one... and i was a little thrown off when i pulled the old one out, it has "NGK" stamped right on it. And the Honda sensor i bought to replace it (straight from the dealer, ouch) also has "NGK" stamped on it.

                  food for thought.

See, when I put the Bosch in, I drove to Fairfax (300 miles). One tank. Drove back, one tank. A tank for my car's 10 gallons. When my gas light comes on, it'll only take 10 gallons. No more. So, that's 300 miles outta 10 gallons. Pretty damn good. When my CEL light came on, with the Bosch, it threw #41. (oxygen sensor heater circuit, yaddah yaddah). Before I even messed with the o2 sensor, when my light FIRST came on.....before the Bosch, it kept throwin' a 41...then like, 2 weeks later, started throwing #41 and #1. o2 sensor was toasted. I just had my engine replaced, with an f22a1, but...they put a few parts from the a6 (original engine), and put 'em on the new engine, including the Intake Manifold, A6 harness, etc. My IAB system's working, so they used the harness. The o2 sensor's right after the flex, and right before the catalytic. The car used to have a catalytic convertor when I got it from my dad. (Everything stock). But, the whole exhaust itself was rusting away. random holes, the more I drove it, the louder it'd get. So, I decided to get the exhaust redone. Went STRAIGGHTT back. No cat, no nothing. Header, to a fart can. Never, ever had a problem with the o2 sensor. I wouldn't mind going to a junkyard to get one, but the chances of findin' an Accord that hasn't been gutted yet, is slim...and the chance of finding one that has an A6 engine in it...NONE. There's like, 25 accords around this town 90-93, and they're all Lx, Dx, or Older Ex. Alllll f22a1's. I just recently Wednesday?, the engine I got, came with an o2 sensor (in the exhaust manifold), so the mechanic just plugged the hole (since it's setup as an A6 cause of the harness and all), and tossed that o2 sensor in the trunk in a bag. I took the Bosch one out, cut the plug. Rewired the A1 o2 sensor they put in my trunk, to the Bosch plug, and plugged it in. Worked for a few hours, fried. Now it's throwing a code for the o2 sensor, and Fuel Supply. It's gotten too far now.

How much would one from the Dealer be? I mean, I'm not really on a budget, but at the same time...I don't wanna buy an Oxygen Sensor for 150-200 dollars, that works the exact same as one that's like..80-100?

Well, I'll stop with the babblin'. Like Deev said, and I've read from many others, the Bosch o2 sensor I bought, was a waste. The post about the Dealer, sorry. If the Denso one is an OEM sensor, I'ma order it.

Denso and NGK are both OEM brands. You'll find stuff directly from Honda from both makers. Both will work interchangably.

Does anyone have information on why pre-OBDII Hondas do NOT like Bosch oxygen sensors? It's like that with every model Honda I've worked on.
