boosting a h22

I was wondering if a stock h22 could handle boost? If so what turbo kit could be used for this, and also would a new ecu need to be used or could the stock ecu be chipped? Lastly do you think 2.25" piping would be enough for the IC piping. This is all being done in a 1993 accord.

theres a civic in jackson ville that has a h22 and boosted on stock internals and he has about 450 whp ... i think mr phil has the same turbo setup u should check out his Mr thread

an H22 with stock internals can handle boost, but i'd only do so with a very good tune. the higher compression makes boosting them risky, but as long as you find a tuner who knows what theyre doing, you should be alright.

check out mozzandherb. he's running a boosted H22 on stock internals.

cant really go more then 350whp on stock h22 max 8-10 psi. but even that need a really good tuner..also for the ecu u'll need a p28 chipped cuz i dun think u can chip the p13 that originaly come from the h22.(correct me if im wrong)

Well you could boost more than that, but realiability might be an issue. As for the ecu you can convert a P06 or get a P28 either one will work.

My buddy is running a 60-1 turbo on his h22 EK at 10psi for almost a year, runs strong, tons of power, and I know another fella that ran 18psi same turbo set-up at the track for a little while, it's now blown tho. Also the 2.25" is plenty, I wouldnt go any bigger.

O..ur buddy has a t3/60-1...what a.r compressor and turbine?cuz i bought the same turbo..and how much is he doing on 10 psi?

why not? i'd actually recommend doing a 2.5" with a turbo. 2.25" is fine when you're running N/A, but with a turbo you want it slightly bigger.

I meant to say not to go bigger then 2.5" LOL, but I would run 2.25" charge piping.......and 'psycobone' I will get the specs on the turbo for you, we figure hes around 280-300whp by his set-up compared to same set-up on the internet(although no car is the same right).

thas nice if hes doing 280-300 whp cuz i am looking for the same at low psi.mine is actually turbine 0.63 and compressor 0.70.if he has the same that would be perfect.
