ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Your take on Torque Converter?

I am talking about the Hi Stall Torque Converter that are said to be "very durable and locks up very hard for a fast launch at about 3000 RPMs. This is worth .50 of a second off you quarter mile E/T !!! That's one half second Faster!". How dos it work and all and who makes them? These are some of the things I like to know. Thanks in Advance guys!

honestly, you can just take your stock converter to a converter shop and they can restall it 500-1000 rpm higher and that should give you some good gains. shouldn't cost more than $300.

Where did you get this .5 sec figure? Anyway the higher stall helps depending on your motor and where it makes power.

Just be careful driving it on the street. My buddy had an older Chevy he put on in and ever time a cop was behind him at a red light, he'd get a ticket cuz he'd peel out all over. Potential downside, thats all.

that wont happen unless you get on the gas. If you're easy on the gas with a high stall torque converter you will just use more rpms to get going the same speed. It just feels like your were slipping the clutch in a manual. It will hurt your city gas mileage.

So it will hurt city gas huh? That sucks. I am already running high octane gas because my motor is high compression. Maybe I will just stick with the JDM H22 Auto Tranny and forget about getting the Hi Torque Converter for the Tranny.
