ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Dome light, Trunk light, Accessory lighter out. Help!

Hi there....first of all thank you in advance for reading this and helping out!

I have a 1990 Accord EX and I had some water leaking into my trunk from the Honda Emblem missing for a bit. I didn't think much of it and then my automatic antenna stopped working, but the radio works and gets reception. Then I my accessory lighter (plug the cell phone charger in) went out, and now the dome light and trunk light are out. I'm not sure if they're all related, but I checked all the appropriate fuses and they all seem fine.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Is there a relay I should check or anything like that?

I remember the antenna going out first (aftermarket from EBay I bought to fix the old one) and everything else working fine. I took the dome light from the trunk out to dry it out without the light always being on, and didn't notice that or the regular dome light out until the cigarette lighter not working.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for reading this and any input you might have.

Please feel free to email me at dannycwu@yahoo.com if that's more convenient. I got my 90 Accord EX for just $2000 from an old lady that had only 70K on it last year!

    Sincerely,

    Danny

Get a test light or a volt meter and check for power at the light, and then start going backwards. Be sure to check all of your fuses, because that many things out together sure seems like a fuse. You checked both the under hood and drivers side kickpanel fuse boxes, right?

        Thanks!

Thanks guys will do. Also did a search and read that my defroster should be out if it's a fuse...which it is also!

The car is 18 years old. I'll check all the fuses and replace the ones that are affected with new ones too. Maybe they're bad even though there should be some visual sign of that right?

I'm not that familiar with relays...is there a relay that could need replacing? I replaced the main relay a year ago per my mechanic's recommendation.

        Have a wonderful Memorial Day!

A relay wouldn't take out all of those things together. Either you have wiring problems or you have a bad fuse or two.
