ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    does any one have

does anyone have coil overs on there cb7. if so how is the ride? how does it sound when u hit a bump or pot hole? does it rattle or does it sound like it bottoms out? give me some feed back. THANKS

    searching is the key.
There are tons of threads on coilovers and suspension in general.

bottom line, cheap coilover will bounce, ride quality will be crappy. Something like skunk2 and ground control will be good paired with aftermarket performance shocks.

If you are talking about the "real" coilovers, I think pretty much all of them are decent.

    Vouch for: Jarhead293, 2.2litrebeater, Darkshadow707, slammed4thgen, Pacman91ex.

There are dozens of coilovers available for CB7s. Ranging from cheap $100 sleeves (that I think ALL suck...) to $2000 full adjustable setups.

As said above... the ride is based on the quality of the parts. Get $100 shit and slap em on your 18 year old shocks, it's going to ride like shit. Spend $2000 on a set of racing coilovers, and it'll also ride like shit... because they aren't meant for the street. Spend $600-$700 on a decent street setup... full coilovers, not just sleeves... and you should be happy.

Makes me cry when i seen my buddy's civic... He has stock shocks with cheap sleeves that over time, sank over top of the plate for the OEM spring... unreal how shity stuff can be made.

i have tein basics and they are perfect for street use.
Gives you a nice drop and rides smooth, little stiffer than stock.
It probablly wont be good for track use, but maybe it's because my car has no sway bars, but i plan to get some soon.
and for sound, it doesnt making any going over bumps
The adjustibility is really handy too, i started off with a 1.75 inch drop, but it was still too little, so im now dropped like 2 inches or more.

does anyone know how hard or how much it would cost to take the coil overs off and just do the lowering springs?

Do it yourself, and it'll cost whatever the springs cost. If you have stock shocks, don't drop the car. Replace the stock stuff. It's dangerous otherwise.

Suspension work is not difficult. Since you have coilovers, it'll be even easier. You won't need a spring compressor to take everything apart (and maybe not even to get it together... I didn't need one for my H&R Sports)

And yes, Tein Basics are very nice. Not competition stuff, but perfect for a street car.

Not a clue. I'm too lazy to search Google for any companies that sell them.
