ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    licesnse suspended, need ideas....

As the title state, my license has been suspended until November. Now with the car sitting in the drive-way, im looking for some basic things i could do for the car to help get the car running better. Now, i only have a basic set of tools, and a basic knowledge of cars, (looking to improve that part) so i cant be going to crazy with tearing the engine apart and everything, Im just looking for simple, easy things to do to help it out.

I have a Completely stock 92 Ex 5spd with 178k miles. I know for a fact my gas mileage wasnt what it should be (roughly 20 mpg, 50/50 city/highway).

Im sure this has been asked several times, however searching didnt yield any results.

    So throw me some suggestions..

    TIA

I would start with more accurate titling of your threads. I moved this to off topic because the title and first paragraph seemed like it should be in off topic.

I moved it to beginner technical, because then you can get better responses.
The OFFICIAL how to add me to your ignore list thread!

well when my lic. was suspended i just drove anyway. I was just real careful. I had to, to make money at a job and what not, so as long as your tags are current and you don't have any obnoxious modifications like a loud fart can exhaust that attracts attention, then you should be okay. I drove like that for a year or more back in HS.

You could try that and take the risk of being arrested, having your car impounded, and some hefty fines, OR you could do what it sounds like you were thinking, Parking it and using the downtime to modify.

Check out the Beginners Guide to Modification. Also, take a look at the DIY's see if there is anything there that catches your eye. There are a ton of things in there, most of which are semi inexpensive. Sounds like you could use a good and thorough tune up also to get that MPG back up to par.

Sounds like she will be getting plenty of attention during the downtime.

Yeah, ive driven for two years with an expired license, and warrants. im sick driving while paranoid. Im also on house arrest till july 1st, so it seemed like a good time to learn some things. This past weekends project was a thorough cleaning of the interior, and i had this great sense of acomplishment when i stood back and looked over it.

I just need someone to run to the parts store for me, apparently that is something that the corrections office doesnt approve me doing.

Did not want to get my l doing the test in my cb7 so I had to use an old friend of mine's intrepid. I do have what many call ie fart can coffe can etc. non resignated exhaust system and cops never really bothered me at all.fzzy285 by the way how far are you from victoria? ill be moving there in a few months

                  Hello,

Tough break on the license suspension. I think you are approaching the situation with the right frame of mind and using the opportunity to not only improve your ride, but also you skills.

The post above that reccomend searching the forum is spot on, and I will just add a few bullets to get you pointed in the right direction.

                  - Add a lip to the front bumper for improved looks.
                  - Add a Cone style air filter for looks and minor performance gains.
                  - Crack open your headlight assemblies and add the HID lighting
                  - A full tune-up is right up your car's alley. Replace o2 sensor, adjust the valvles, etc.

Because of the poor gas mileage a tne up will pay for itself in the long run and so performance wise I recommend that before any other performance work is done.

Stay off the road. November will be here before yo know it and best of luck to you.
