well my tranny is slipping and shifts hard. so i was contemplating on either rebuilding the tranny or just going 5spd(whichever is more cost efficient). but what i wanna know is if i do go 5spd, is the lsd unit interchangeable between the trannys?

rebuilding anything on a 4th gen isn't really cost effective. not when 1.5-odd million were produced, and there are prolly 14 in every junkyard in the united states. that being said, definitely do the auto->manual swap, as that totally wakes up any car that has an auto.

h22 and h23 transmissions both have available aftermarket LSD's IIRC. check with quaife.Comment

oh my bad i meant the oem lsd unit from my tranny. i read somewhere that the jdm housing is bigger so it wont fit into usdm trannys but dunno if its true or not
